Week 4 Challenge: A collaborative activity
Project title: Be The Change
Subtitle: Students school problems (Learning difficulties , bullying , school life with its ups and downs)

Needless to mention that the project will start with ice -breaking activities via video conferences and padlet/ videos of  the students and partners to get to know each other.

As for Week 4 challenge, I've chosen the first part of my project which is Brainstorming.

    Stages and Tools
 Stage 1: Tool 1: Padlet
Teachers will start this huge project with a very simple question: Do you like school? Why?  why not?
Students will post their answers on a Padlet created for this purpose. At that level all the participants will have their own say about their schools.
Teachers  should be here to read and check the students' answers and comment also.
On  twinspace and on the project journal:  teachers should highlight the fact that to be able to find out the students problems, they should focus on the students whose answers were about the reasons why they hate schools.
Teachers then check the language the students use to express their ideas. These ideas, indeed, will be the starting point of the second stage.

Stage2/ Tool 2: Video conference / Any presentation tool (Genially/ emaze)
Teachers sort out the students' answers with negative attitudes towards school .
Teachers  will use twinpace ,the chat box, the project journal to decide how to divide the collected answers among the students:  each partner will give his/her students the other partner's students answers for more interaction.
To discuss what they found out: A video conference would be the best option to discuss the final findings.
Here  teachers will focus again on the receptive/ productive skills while listening to them interacting with the partners.

  Stage 3/ Tool 3: Coggle.it
That is the final stage of part 1 of the project: Problems to be solved
Teachers start the Coggle.it doc for them . Students then will visit the doc and add the different problems they were able to find out from their project mates answers.

The positive answers will be left at the end of the project to give an optimistic ending to the whole work.

Week 2 for me
Week 2 was dynamic and  rich with insight and knowledge sharing. I enjoyed analysing my teaching needs and discovering that I’m sharing some with other fellow teachers in other parts of the words. That’s a strong proof of our connection.

Sharing and posting the different tools and projects was very interesting . Most importantly the content (tools and projects) is very useful to build confidence for a novice etwinner like me.
And the journey didn’t stop there. Showing learning evidence was a kind of a follow up activity to make sure that we’ve learnt something.

Again another week that is taking the experience to another level of enjoyment and excitement.

        Thank you Open Etwinning Community.

Sharing experiences
How important is planning !
The idea of becoming a member of this global community is very tempting and exciting. Getting my students connected beyond boundaries has always been one of my teaching objectives.
For that reason when I recently joined the etwinning community I was overwhelmed by the idea that I’ve finally done it. I kept saying to  myself that was  the time to get started”.
So, without giving myself the appropriate time to  familiarize with the different aspects of etwinning and  be equipped, I threw myself into an Etwinning_ Plus project that I’ve suggested. What has encouraged me is that I’ve  quickly found a partner (1 partner because I didn’t know how to deal with more than that)  and got the approval of the community. I was sure that I was doing the things the way they should be done which was wrong.
Indeed, I was missing a lot and I found myself unable to find the time to get trained  and then  practice what I learned  to make the project a  success . For a project to be a success one has to plan, organize, set objectives for every single step of it and work in collaboration with partners to fulfil them.
Sad to say that because of that luck of organization, training, patience from my side, the project had to stop halfway.
Now, I feel sorry for my students  who devoted their time and energy to do interesting activities. I’m trying my best to  share them  with other etwinners. Maybe this way  my studnets would  feel and know how proud of them I am.  Add the that, my partner and I were  unable to come up with collaborative activities though we exchanged interesting ones but we never put them into practice.
I’m sharing my experience to highlight the importance of collaborating with partner(s) and planning before, while and after projects.

Learning Evidence

    Learning Evidence

The interaction that took place on Listly and Open Etwinning between all the etwinners, sharing and exchanging ideas about the different tools to be used  and projects to get invoved in,  has been of great help and has brought high level of inspiration to improve our teaching practices.
After  analyzing the different areas that I need to consider to make my teaching  better I started scrolling up and down trying to pick the ones that might be more suitable and more effective for my own needs.

Ways to deal with large and mixed abilities classes

This would be really effective to help me track the students progress ,deal with their weaknesses  as  the class time doesn’t allow me to do so.

Ways to make my lesson more dynamic
To help  the students become creative and get more engaged and  responsible for their learning, the list was really amazing:

apart from all the other tools to create animated videos  like

and magazines

Ways to make  "the learders of tomorrow"

would be a great way to do so.

Exchanging , Collaborating, Sharing and Inspiring that’s the core of Etwinning.

 My teaching practice
Areas to improve and useful projects
What is special about our job is that while teaching you never stop learning. This desire for learning is  always fueled by  a desire to improve, give the best of us , update  our  teaching techniques so that  we  can satisfy  our  students' needs.
Feedback and reflecting on our classrooms practices, being open to changes and being ready to embrace new ideas are key qualities for us , teachers , to keep developing for the sake of a better teaching/learning experience.
For me, there many things that I would like to try in my class and I live  with the constant feeling of "Anissa, you can do better" which keeps pushing me forward.
Areas that I'd like to improve

        Large and mixed-ability classes.
How to deal with large classe?  For me it's important  to be able to keep order and offer the joy of learning for a large class. I do admit that's not easy. It's hard, challenging, exhausting but, still, have to find a way out and try my best to succeed in keeping their attention and enhusiasm throughout the lesson.  Things get even harder when  students have different  needs . Indeed large classes implies  multi-level / mixed-abilities classes.  I know that I'm in constant need of inspiring ideas, guidance and help to be able to come up  with suitable activities for such a teaching context. Here  are some of  the kinks that  have been of great help  so far
That's my feeling when I'm in class. I feel that I have that responsibility as I'm teaching young learners. It's a matter of paramount importance to work on boosting their self-image, self-esteem and self-confidence. At that age they may feel lost , they may even lose faith in school and education in general, they may go through different psychological and physiscal changes that might affect their personality and shake their beliefs . So it's up to us to instill all those good values . I think that we should help them work on themeslves to help them become able to pass on those values and be ready for the future (to live in society, at work...)
I've recently discovered it and hope to be part of it.
My etwinning project:
entiltled: Our Words To The Word/ Nos Messages pour le monde
Identidying learning difficulties

        Making the lessons more dynamic.
Animated classes boosts students' motivation .Websites such as Powtoon  which has helped me create my own videos for the students is one of the tools that is offering a possiblity to make the lessons more dynamic and more interesting and engaging.
Here is a link to my videos inspired by 'The Serious Farmer" by I kept nearly all the details of the original story but thanks to Powtoon I added a creative dimension to it to give the students the possibility to think and react to the story. I also tried to  offer them the opportunity to be crative by trying to come up with another ending for the story. I also did some changes to the evnts to meet their needs and introduce the vocab I'm supposed to cover in my lesson.  I also worked on the text as I wanted to improve their listening skills also. SO I used
http://www.fromtexttospeech.com/and here is the link to my video using Powtoon
I'd also like to be well equipped as teacher to  identify  those students who have learning difficulties easily so that I won't waste my time nor theirs so that support, help  and  understanding would be offered on the spot. Training is highly recommended and need here
I'm sure that the journey on this MOOC will help a lot working on these areas regarding my teaching practices

Week 1 For Me

Etwinning MOOC 2nd Edition

 Week 1 for me

The World at One Place

This is the feeling I had throughout this whole week. There were loads of introductions and greetings  from across the globe. It was  amazing  getting to know each other via the creative devices that we were asked to use.

 Challenges and worries

I have to  admit that I started this week feeling anxious about  my ICT skills. Actually I wasn't sure I'd be able to do the assigned tasks. Thank you everyone for your support and guidance to hlep me out.

The biggest challenge for me was the creation of the portfolio. But I've ended up by finding the answers to all those questions that I've been trying to solve for so long. I'm really proud of myself now that I have my own blog .

Twitter and  tweeting was another one. Yolanda  Egea ended up by liking the same tweets several times. I kept sending the same links because I wasn't sure I was doing it properly.

Support and help to build confidence
Now , confident as I feel (thanks to the MOOC team and participants) I feel ready and confident to carry on.

eTwinning in 140

Etwinning is an experience that it is a pity to miss and a blessing to live.
It gives to the teaching learning experience another dimension. Teaching and learning never stops and is never kept into the classroom. The teaching and learning is happening all the time everywhere.
It also gives a sense to all the efforts that both teachers and students are putting into their tasks to be heard and known via their creative ideas, personal voices and individual  touches. An experience that both are living ,enjoying and gaining recognition  out of it locally and globally.
It’s also an opportunity for both partners, i.e educators  and their students, to go beyond their used- to- be-thought abilities and discover others that they’ve   never known they have.
Etwinning is offering the floor for everyone to try and grow globally.
